Project Tracks
ADAPT organizes our projects into three tracks: Research, Competition, and Community. These tracks allow us to pursue a variety of projects targeted to student interest and community needs.
Research
The Research track focuses on developing novel medical technologies with the potential for future product development. Research projects reflect the passions and interests of ADAPT's members and allow them to explore their goals in greater depth. These projects largely live internal to the club, which enables a greater degree of exploration. Our 2024-25 research projects are Bionic Arm and Surgical Tool Checking.
Competition
The Competition track is focused on developing projects for intercollegiate medical device and innovation competitions. These projects enable students who are interested in design or pitch competitions to develop devices with express acknowledgement of market and user needs. Our 2024-25 competition project is Sensagon.
Community
The Community track focuses on developing medical devices and assistive technology for community partners sourced through our outreach efforts. Community partners take many forms, whether through local organizations or individuals seeking assistance. Our community track epitomizes the mission of ADAPT to develop medical devices to directly serve our community. Our 2024-25 community projects are VocalBridge, Adaptive Toothpaste Dispenser, and the PCAS (Pennsylvania Center for Adaptive Sports) Partnership.
